A vampire facial is a combination of microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Microneedling uses short, fine needles to puncture the skin and range in size from .5 to 2.5 millimetres. A powerful numbing cream is applied to the face for additional comfort and so the needles feel like tiny pinpricks that only go skin-deep. This causes an injustice to the skin, enough for your skin to heal itself by producing elastin and collagen, and allowing the PRP to penetrate deeper.

During the micro-needling, the PRP is applied to your skin topically. PRP is the platelet-rich plasma protein produced from blood which has a large concentration of growth factors, helping tissue to heal and repair, treating all types of skin issues. When PRP is introduced back into the skin, the growth factors stimulate collagen-producing cells and new blood vessel formation resulting in skin looking refreshed and rejuvenated.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is used to treat acne scars, surgical scars, hyperpigmentation issues, uneven and dull skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles.

Your blood will be drawn then centrifuged to separate out the plasma. The plasma is then injected into your skin using either the micro needling, a cannula or direct injection into the target area.

*Some redness is expected post procedure however will vary based on individual and will often not be as extreme as in the above noted picture

The recommended protocol for optimal results is 3-4 sessions at 4-6 week intervals. For Alopecia & Hair loss, 1 session every 3 weeks over 3 months, 5 sessions total. After these treatments are complete, some patients may require maintenance therapy once or twice a year. Those who smoke or have a lot of sun damage will require more treatments.

There is very little downtime after the procedure however taking it easy is generally recommended for couple of days. These guidelines help ensure healing progresses well and optimal outcomes from your procedure are achieved.

For at least eight hours do not touch, rub, or massage the injection site.
Do not bathe, shower, or swim for eight hours after treatment.
Do not take any medications, vitamins, or supplements this includes nutritional supplements, herbs, pain medications, and even marijuana and CBD for the week following your treatment.
Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil. These drugs will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation. Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. When exposed to sun, always use sun screen SPF 30 or above. You may clean your face with a gentle cleanser before bed
Avoid applying ice or heat at the site for three days after your injection.
Do not apply lotions, oils, or makeup to the injection site for six hours.
Avoid strenuous activities and exercise for three days after.
Avoid smoking or consuming alcohol for at least three days post-procedure. Both of these can impede the healing process and smoking may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
Stay hydrated and eat healthy, nourishing meals.

You may experience tenderness, swelling, and redness at the injection site after your treatment. You may even experience bruising. These symptoms could persist for 7-10 days post-procedure.
